Dear Friends,

This update is a little different in scope than some of our recent Pandit newsletters. Arlene and I have been thinking you might enjoy having a brief sense of some of the TM Movement’s educational highlights in India, accomplished under the guidance of Maharishi and outstanding leadership of Br. Girish Chandra Varma Ji. Much of this success is coming from the powerful coherence that is being generated from our Pandits at the Brahmasthan of India and at our other 39 Pandit locations, including at all 12 Jyotir Lingas and 11 of the Shaktipeeths. So we felt you might like to see some of the waves of success accelerated by your invaluable support for the Pandits.

Primary and Secondary Schools
As you may know, Girish Ji, with Maharishi’s direction, has created the largest private primary and secondary educational organization in India. Currently there are 151 schools in 17 states of India with approximately 100,000 students, who perennially win awards at academic and extra-curricular competitions. All students meditate and many of them have become or are on track to become Yogic flyers. In the past 18 months, Girish Ji has organized or built new vastu flying halls in 40 locations for students, teachers and their parents.

This major school organization is now poised to continue its rapid expansion through a franchise system that will allow growth without large upfront capital costs and staffing challenges.

Colleges and Universities
Girish Ji has also created a large network of colleges and universities, with all meditating students, including:

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic University, Madhya Pradesh in central India – offering graduate and post graduate degrees, it currently has 28,000 students in two tracks, one for Vedic Science and the other for Management and Computer Science. The Vedic track includes 6,000 Vedic Pandits at the various campuses in India who are working towards their degrees through a program designed by Maharishi Ji of systematic study and evaluation of Vedic knowledge. The balance of the students attend one of the four regular campuses or one of the 220 Associate Institutions which have aligned themselves with MMYVU.

Now open, this newest of the colleges and universities was given accreditation in record time. Its main campus is being built at Bilaspur with distance education study centers already established at Raipur, Raigarh and Durg and with several others underway.

It has 4,800 students in 22 study centers offering courses in Management and Computer Science. All students also study Vedic Science as part of curriculum and do regular practice of TM.

Maharishi Colleges, Madhya Pradesh – with 6 branches and 2,000 students, it primarily offers degrees in education, and physical education.

Maharishi Institute of Management – with 6 branches in major centers around India, Bangalore, Chennai, Noida, Bhopal, Hyderabad and Indore, it offers undergraduate and graduate programs with a business orientation. It currently has 950 students.

We wanted to tell you about these schools and colleges to give you a glimpse of the very bright future for India and the world. These schools and colleges, year after year, are creating waves of new meditators. Financially, these institutions are self-sufficient. Their profit — their true profit, I would say — is the huge number of meditators and sidhas who graduate.

It is not too much to say that the coherence and economic growth in India in recent years is directly correlated with the stability of our Pandit program. Your support of that nourishing root is helping guide our world’s bright future.

Thank you again for all you are doing to contribute to this new bright light in modern life– through your own daily program and through your generous care and support of Maharishi’s dear Vedic Pandits.

With very best wishes,

Jai Guru Dev
